Earlier today a wave of dread rippled through the world of aviation. Pakistan International Airlines operating an Airbus A320 aircraft took off from Lahore at 1:00pm IST on its way to Karachi, but on final approach the pilot requested a “go around”, images taken by onlookers show both the 1 and 2 engines with smoke and soot marks. The RAT was deployed meaning the landing gear was also not functional. So the pilot attempted a belly landing but failed and had to go around again. This time the plane lost altitude and power and went down. CCTV cameras in the area captured the horrific last moments of PIA PK8303.

There were reportedly 98 people on board and authorities claim that there are survivors. The CEO of Pakistan International Airlines has arrived in Karachi with relief teams.

The final conversation between Captain Sajjad Gul and the Air Traffic Controller at Karachi has been released.
First responders helped the fire department to rescue survivors who were injured. There were 98 passengers and 8 crew. So far nobody has identified any of the passengers or crew that were on PIA Flight 8303.
The Airbus A320 is one of the most advanced aircraft if our time. Could poor maintenance be the cause of this horrible incident? Maybe. Due to Covid-19 many aircraft including PIA were grounded. The crash took place a day after commercial travel was approved.
This is a developing story. Stay Tuned!
