PIA (PK8303) CRASH IN KARACHI.

Earlier today a wave of dread rippled through the world of aviation. Pakistan International Airlines operating an Airbus A320 aircraft took off from Lahore at 1:00pm IST on its way to Karachi, but on final approach the pilot requested a “go around”, images taken by onlookers show both the 1 and 2 engines with smoke and soot marks. The RAT was deployed meaning the landing gear was also not functional. So the pilot attempted a belly landing but failed and had to go around again. This time the plane lost altitude and power and went down. CCTV cameras in the area captured the horrific last moments of PIA PK8303.

There were reportedly 98 people on board and authorities claim that there are survivors. The CEO of Pakistan International Airlines has arrived in Karachi with relief teams.

The final conversation between Captain Sajjad Gul and the Air Traffic Controller at Karachi has been released.

First responders helped the fire department to rescue survivors who were injured. There were 98 passengers and 8 crew. So far nobody has identified any of the passengers or crew that were on PIA Flight 8303.

The Airbus A320 is one of the most advanced aircraft if our time. Could poor maintenance be the cause of this horrible incident? Maybe. Due to Covid-19 many aircraft including PIA were grounded. The crash took place a day after commercial travel was approved.

IMPACT OF CORONA VIRUS ON INDIAN AVIATION!

By Stafford Martin

So far airlines that operate within India have not been affected, and I don’t think it will in the foreseeable future.

“Domestic as well as international entities, including entities involved in running airlines, have shown interest in Air India and coronavirus news situation is not to impact divestment of the national carrier,” – (Minister of Civil Aviation) Hardeep Singh Puri.

The most important reason being international carriers that are interested in acquiring a 100% stake in Air India.

Domestic carriers such as Indigo,SpiceJet and Vistara have been fully operational. Vistara also received their new Boeing-787 Dreamliner to add to their fleet.

International routes haven’t been affected either. We’ve still got United Airlines from San Francisco and New York, Emirates from Dubai to Chennai and Qatar Airways from Doha to Chennai.

We don’t seem interested in restricting operations from Hong Kong and Shenzhen either. Cathay Pacific and SF Airlines both operate Boeing-747 aircraft.

SF Airlines ( Shenzhen – Chennai )

Other international airlines on the other hand have cancelled and grounded many of their flights to and from China. Some airlines are trying to give their customers full closure by posting to social media about how they’re taking precautions to try and stop the novel virus. An example of this is Emirates. They show how they disinfect and clean their Airbus A380 fleet.

Well that’s all for now. Coronavirus may have shut down alot of operations around the world, but does not look like it’s stopping India.

Ever Wanted A Genuine Flight Tracker?!

You ever look up at the sky and see a plane 35000ft above you and wonder where it’s going or if it’s a private jet or a cargo plane?

So recently I discovered an app that tracks all types of aircraft around the world. It’s called FlightRadar 24.

Its a free / paid app. It’s VERY accurate, and available for both Android and iOS in the respective store.

Some of its features include…

1.Arrival and Departure List.

Also, I’d like to make this clear…as Casey Neistat would say…THIS IS A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW!

Flight Radar 24 tracks everything…from a Cessna all the way up to a Boeing 747 and Airbus A380! You can also check the weather report, get alerts like general emergency alerts..and radio failure alerts. I don’t know what those mean yet.

Since I live so close to the airport I’ve grown up plane spotting, and this app makes it so much easier.

It provides information on the aircraft you’re traveling on too .

And it’s always a 100% accurate. Quote me on that. This may be irrelevant to some people, but very relevant to few.

This app works because of an antenna that is connected to a box receiver. And the antenna is placed on a rooftop with a 360° view of the sky. You can also apply for the FR24 Box Receiver. It’s completely free. But it has its conditions. You can learn more about it in the app.

You can view the aircraft in 3D too. But I don’t recommend doing that if your phone can’t handle it.

Well that’s that about Flight Radar 24.

See you soon.
